The all-new 2017 Starboard GO boards are the perfect first personal board, that helps you progress from your first steps to fully planing and carve jibing.
Easily the most popular beginner board on the market today, and one that will let you progress from beginner status to intermediate ability rider levels with ease!
FEATURES OF THE 2017 STARBOARD GO
The new shapes are wider and thinner for extra stability and wind range.
The deck has a large soft EVA finish, comfortable for your feet, knees and elbows. You get the grip without the cuts or rashes.
The EVA deck is raised above the edges of the board to allow the water to flow freely around the board and jibe smoothly without drag.
The GO boards feature a centre handle to carry under-arm.
The Go boards have zero tail kick rocker, which provides the easiest, smoothest entry in planing. Just hop on, sheet in and go fast.
Reduced thickness gives you a sharp, more race-like sensation and control in higher winds.
New and improved Drake Freeride Power CNC G-10 fins with thinner tips for more speed and better lift control. The upright rake and thicker base provide maximum stability and traction for all sail sizes.
All models are now fitted with a centre fin that helps you keep upwind and provides extra stability as you learn to windsurf. Remove the centre fin, fit the plug in and you then have a full performance freeride board…fantastic, almost two boards in one!
Nose carry handle, making them easy to carry for kids.
The cut-aways help reduce drag, which translates to higher top speeds and quick accelerations.
The dome in the tail makes them comfortable for all footstrap positions and easy to control in all conditions.
New pads with a square grooving pattern that is more comfortable and durable.
Footstrap positions for all levels of riders, from the entry level inside positions to the outside expert positions.
Fitted with new style Drake Slick footstraps, which are narrower than the Drake Wave straps and feature size indicator tabs for easy size adjustments.
For 2017, the GOs have been upgraded to the new 3DX construction, which is a three dimensional biaxial glass micro sandwich construction. Both deck and bottom are wrapped in 45 degree biaxial glass fiber, wetted out with an expanding foam epoxy, and cured under high pressure. The biaxial glass gives a crisp, stiff feel with flex for choppy conditions. The foam epoxy creates a 2mm skin thickness for a micro sandwich effect: tough and strong.
